Trainwrecks Tidbits: Vol. 4
Special Trainwrecks Artwork for Spring!
Happy Easter, everyone! I’ve just returned from another trip to Seattle, where I managed to squeeze in a few visits to some of our future Trainwrecks locations while exploring other parts of Washington—and Canada! Mr. Burns and I had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary and his birthday in our favorite slice of America. We crossed four new states off our 50 States to Visit Together list on the way home, and boy are we sore from all that road tripping.

If you’ve been following me on Tumblr, you’ve likely seen the location photos I’ve posted throughout the week, as well as the special artwork I had commissioned during the hiatus period. I’m almost as excited to share these with you as I am to get back into editing, because Trainwrecks: Season 4 (2007-2008) will be coming soon! But first, a special thanks to mangomangoj on Instagram, who does the character profile artwork for each season and worked hard to bring these scenes to life!
Special Artwork 1 - Trainwrecks: Season 1 (2004-2005) Episode 20
If you’ve made it this far into our story, you will remember Duke and Victoria’s first kiss in the Season 1 finale! As much fun as it was to torture him, ending his year of suffering felt even better. Here’s an interesting fact: I did not request Roman Holiday to be playing in the background, but Mr. Burns and I had watched it a few weeks ago and both agreed that it was a perfect Duketoria movie. (So happy, Mr. Kingston. So happy.) What a coincidence!
Special Artwork 2 - Trainwrecks: Season 2 (2005-2006) Episode 21
We took artistic liberties with the second commission, which features Sebastian and Jasmine’s dazzling prom night kiss from Season 2. The actual setting for this kiss is Jasmine’s front porch, but the slow dance at the aquarium was so important that I decided to blend the two together. And downtown Seattle makes a more romantic backdrop than Jasmine’s house—no offense, Nolan family. (Peep Lumen Field in the distance, which at this point of the story would have still been named Qwest Field. Go Seahawks!)
My favorite thing about this piece is the way Sebastian is holding Jasmine’s hand. It feels so reassuring somehow. Like a promise. ;w;
Last, we have a scene that does not come from anywhere in the Trainwrecks narrative.
My goal for the third commission was to represent Luna and Dimitri’s current place in the narrative. He’s fallen asleep studying and is dreaming of Parker. Luna is watching over him with a loving smile and carefully removing his glasses. Dimitri may be ignorant of Luna’s feelings for him now, but all sleepers must awaken, and when he does, things are going to get messy.
Note: The setting of this scene is Aunt Leila’s backyard garden, and is a callback to scenes from the novel draft of Trainwrecks which may or may not make it into a future season. For this most recent Seattle trip, Mr. Burns and I stayed in Aunt Leila’s neighborhood. It was lovely.
That’s all from me! These beautiful commissions will live on the Table of Contents page until the amount of art outgrows that post. Next time you hear from me, it’ll be for the start of the Trainwrecks: Season 4 (2007-2008) promotional period.
May we meet again soon!

What a wonderful time! Absolutely love these pieces and what they represent, could not be more excited for what’s in store.
*happy sighs* I could STILL stare at that art all day! So excited for Season Four (and Season Five 🙃). And I'm so glad you guys had a good trip!!
